Lucy received her undergraduate degree cum laude from Harvard University. She received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Washington in Seattle. During law school, she was a managing editor on the Washington Law Review.

After law school, Lucy worked for a top 50 law firm in New York City and then in Colorado. At that firm, she learned to think about a client’s long-range best interests, not just fight for a short-term victory regardless of other costs.

Eventually, Lucy started her own practice so that she could focus solely on appellate work. She has been handling appellate cases since 2013.
